CompTIA exam prep

CompTIA prep, one objective at a time

SecPlus Mastery and APlus Mastery teach Security+ and A+ the same way. You go through one objective at a time, and the next stays locked until you read the lesson and pass the quiz with at least 80 percent.

Pick the exam you're studying for

SecPlus Mastery

CompTIA Security+ SY0-701

All five SY0-701 domains, with hands-on labs, performance-based questions, spaced review and timed 90-question mock exams scored from 100 to 900. Domain 1 is free, and you don't need a card to start.

APlus Mastery

CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1201) and Core 2 (220-1202)

Core 1 and Core 2 each keep their own progress, and one APlus Mastery plan opens both. Both have performance-based questions and a timed 90-question mock exam. The drills, from ports to Linux commands, are free on every plan, as is Domain 1 of each core.

  • One account

The same sign-in opens both courses; each keeps its own progress.

  • Sold separately

Each course has its own plans; a SecPlus Mastery plan doesn't include APlus Mastery, or the other way around.

  • Pay once

Plans are a single payment; nothing renews, so there's nothing to cancel.

  • Same prices

Each course starts free. A 90-Day Pass is $39 and Lifetime is $99, paid once per course.

How the courses work

Both courses use the same four steps. Only the objectives change from one exam to the next.

  1. Read the lesson

Each objective is one lesson, written against CompTIA's own objectives, with practice questions along the way.

  2. Pass the quiz at 80%

Score 80 percent on the objective's quiz and the next one opens. Until then, it stays locked.

  3. Review on schedule

Questions come back just before you'd be likely to forget them, which keeps the early domains fresh.

  4. Sit the mock exam

A timed 90-question exam, weighted like the real one and scored from 100 to 900, shows when you're ready to book.

Not sure which exam comes first?

CompTIA lists A+ as recommended experience for Network+, and Network+ as recommended experience for Security+; neither is a requirement, so you can start with whichever exam you need.

  1. A+ 220-1201 and 220-1202 APlus Mastery
  2. Network+ N10-009
  3. Security+ SY0-701 SecPlus Mastery
